The JBMA Spanish Program is based on the Montessori philosophy as well as language development, learning styles, and specific techniques such as the three-period lesson. Our program is structured to emphasize both the acquisition of the language and an understanding of Spanish speaking cultures. The goal is to instill a love of the language, a positive attitude toward language learning, and an “I can do it!” feeling.
The Spanish curriculum is designed to develop a steady growth throughout the grade levels. Students are presented with new and more challenging tasks as they move from one grade level to the next. Repetition of key vocabulary and grammatical concepts ensures that the students will retain the important information essential to oral and written communication. Students will learn to understand, speak read, and write Spanish words, phrases, sentences, poems and stories.
